Fashion is the third most polluting industry in the world (Climate Trade), as it exploits resources and produces a lot of waste. Above all, water is the most abused resource in the textile industry. It is estimated that around 5 trillion litres of water (World Resources Institute) are used each year for fabric dyeing, and it is no secret that waste water from dyeing processes can cause serious damage to ecological systems, due to the large amounts of salts used. Indeed, textile production is estimated to be responsible for c. 20% of global clean water pollution from dyeing and finishing products (European Parliament)
Our process reduces water consumption during dyeing by over 90%, and uses zero salts, reducing the both the consumption of water and risk from wastewater.

How is this possible?
The magic behind *Clean Color Tech is the liquid we use for dye fixation. In most modern dyeing methods, fabric is dyed in water. Dye molecules prefer to be dissolved in water, rather than binding with the fabric. This is why other dyeing methods need to add excess dye and large amounts of harmful salts in order to force the dye to bond with the fabric. With Clean Color Tech, instead of using water, we immerse the fabric into a special non-water based liquid, which naturally and quickly drives the dye molecules deeper into the fabric. This means that our process is fast, and because we don’t add excess dye or any salts, we don’t need to wash the fabric as much after dyeing – saving lots water, energy and producing fewer emissions.
